Our Four Generation Family Legacy

In the early 20th century, Carlo Terranova, an Italian immigrant arrived at Ellis Island. He, like many others, came to this country with a dream and a vision.

Newly married Carlo settled in Brooklyn, NY and had four children. He started a painting and plastering company which eventually grew to one of the largest union painting firms with projects ranging from banks to bridges and everything in between.

Carlo had a son named Achille (Gil). An ambitious Terranova, Gil took the family business and added the fabrication and installation of all types of decorative stainless steel as well as sheet metal for the distribution of heat, air and exhaust. The company eventually grew to a full-service HVAC company with over 100 employees and a vast portfolio of projects including commercial, industrial and multifamily residential.

In the mid 1970’s with the HVAC component flourishing, “Gil” began the acquisition of real estate to support his ever expanding business. Most of the properties were commercial / residential blend and the buildings were old and in dire need of renovation. One by one we renovated and rented the residential components. Alas another component of our family’s business was born.

At Terranova we maintain those attributes from a century ago. Four generations later, we still treat every client with impeccable respect. Our projects range from designer-driven residential to commercial, hospitality as well as institutional.

Our goal is to provide our clients with a project that exceeds their expectations while maintaining financial budgets.

Our experience can offer cost effective alternatives for those clients that may feel their project is “out of reach”. Sustainability is tantamount on all projects.

All of our associated subcontractors have decades of experience who have grown with us over the years.

We maintain a sizable team of journeymen which allows us to maintain time lines and control cost.

Please allow our family to become part of yours.
